Default Which oil pump for new engine

I found this oil pump from Ford Racing Parts and am wondering if it will cause any problems with the variable valve time since it uses oil pressure. This oil pump, according to the website, increases oil flow by 20 percent.

This pump will go into a new forged short block. I am going with new valve springs in the cylinder heads, so I can take the REV limiter up on the new block to about 7250. Should I go with this one or just use a stock oil pump.

Livernois uses the stock pump on their built SBs, JDM uses the GT500 pump on theirs,
if the motor is properly balanced either should be fine for use. IIRC Livernois has said that they have motors spun to 8000rpm on the stock pump

Either of the above should be fine. Most engine builders recommend an upgraded oil pump for FI built motors. I had the OEM unti and when I got my motor done, I got a GT500 piece. The FRPP unit you showed above may be the same. IDK.

Whatever you do, get a good unit and don't skimp.
