FRPP/Whipple Non Intercooled Dyno Results

Those are nice numbers. Congrats on the new addition.
I might have a chance to get a 400hp Whipple from Ford myself at a great price, but I am a little concerned about it being non-intercooled. I was told to stay away from them from a couple of tuners in the Houston area. But, I can't imagine Ford putting out an item that would not be safe for our engine.
Did you hear or read anything like that? Any problems so far?

Congrats on the whipple.
I almost when the non int route but alot of people talked me out of it. I personally dont think it is a big deal if you power goals stay under 400rwhp. In hindsight my quest for HP would have just had me upgrading to the HO shortly afterward, but I think it is a great kit, especially for a self install.
Check out the VMP site. Justin dyno tuned one that made 400rwhp on a dynojet. Pretty sweet IMO.
Also nice to hear the dyno guy not pushing his stuff or trying to make it a dyno queen and unsafe for the street.
Defineatly sounds like a guy I would work with.
Congrats again.
If you track the car alot maybe look into a small nitrous shot. Something in the 25 - 50 range. It should lower your IAT's and give you a few more HP to beat up on vette's and camaro's that are coming out.

Hi Bruce got my car done today on a Mustang Dyno. 320 RWHP 329 RWTQ. This was at 5181 RPM. I the took it to a Dynojet this afternoon here are the numbers 332 RWHP
289 RWTQ at 6100 RPM.All AFR were spot on and there is lots of room for more if I ask for it.But for right now this is exactly what I asked for from JDM/SCT. It will shred em if I want to and still drive thru a foot of snow. I'm not allowed to post pics so when I am able I will. Again glad for your numbers,I've been trying to figure out the parasitic loss with my auto.

Texas Stang,
I live in the NW part of WA state. Anything over 75 is hot. If the car doesn't like one of our rare 90's days I just won't drive it. If I lived anywhere but here, Alaska, or Maine I'd of went intercooled with a big pulley.
kidnizmo,
I had it narrowed down to the Whipple, Vortech/Paxton, or Brenspeed Vortech tuner kit.
The Whipple looked like it belonged on the motor. I read the install manuals and liked the Whipple instructions better. Best bang for the buck was a Vortech HO for $4400 from a Ford dealer in Illinios. The Brenspeed version was a good buy too. In the end it was hard to beat the flat torque curve, lower boost pressure, lower temps, and how well I liked the look of the Whipple. I've been around long enough (43) to know that sometimes the best value is the one I want even if it's more expensive. If I settle for something else I end up with buyers remorse and end up buying what I wanted in the first place at a later time.

I choose the Whipple for three reasons.
1. Best looking to my eye, I want to SEE the blower. (Yes that was a poke at saleen guys )
2. Sound, got to love that whine.
3. High quality engineering and design.
WHIPPLE FTW!!!!!!
