Thanks ya'll. The main reason I was asking about mileage is because we are throwing around the idea of keeping her mazda 626 for those times when we want to save a little and just use the mustang as our "Sunday driver". But we all know what will happen to that... the 626 will start to grow weeds! I was just throwing around some ideas.

Interesting that you mention a 626. I've got one of those (a '95 with about 110k on the clock), and its status is "spare 4/5 passenger/loaner/foul winter weather car and autocross weapon". So no plans to get rid of it even though it does only get driven a few times a month.

Yea, the dumbest thing I did regarding the 'stang was trading in my Escort, 142k miles - I should have dumped a little money into it and used it for most of the above (we have min-van for the 4-7 passenger situatons...).

I have an '06 automatic GT with a JDM Engineering tune, with a Ford Racing cold air intake, Steeda underdrive pullies, and 3.73 rear gears, and on the highway I'm averaging, according to the car's readout on the dash: 19 MPG, give or take a .5 When I was 100% stock it was about 20 ( My speed is usually 70-80 mph) ** Also keep in mind I have to use 93 gas because of the tune. Thank God prices went down! (for now)

I do not use it for work. Work is a 70 mile round trip, so I use my '94 Accord for that. gets about 30 mpg. (I'm currently looking for an '09 Focus to replace it.

Yeah man, I have been thinking about trading in the old mazda but the more I think about it I would be crazy. It has 162,000 mi. and still going strong! At 31mpg why trade it in, besides... I know I won't get crap for it anyway. I'm still about a month or so out from buying the mustang so I have time to mull it over.
