I'd love an explanation for this one!!!
I have Magnaflow hi-flo cats, and a Borla axle back "S" type (stingers) exhaust. First, I installed the Borla's and it sounded great! Then I had hi-flo cats installed around 6 months later and now it sounds awesome, and as they break in it just sounds better and better with every day. Now,...I don't know how,..but all of a sudden, as if it happened over night, it sounds like it has long tube headers on it! What's interesting is that the change in the exhaust note/pulse is primarily coming out of the rear left exhaust pipe. Hey,...I ain't complaining because my stang sounds like the SVT COBRAS that I've drooled over since I was 14. However, I would love to know what caused such a dramatic difference in sound within such a short period of time.
To be specific, it's a louder growl within the midrange frequency.
Thanks guys.

You didn't install an aftermarket transmission mount, did you?
I know that sounds odd, and I don't have any science behind it, but ever time I add an other than stock tranny mount I can SWEAR the car gets louder.

thats what I was thinking....
possible and the exhaust should be broken in after 6 months....is this a DD?
if you did blow one out then you basically have a resonator now...

Problem with Magnaflow high flow cat?
Lately, as if it happened over night, my exhaust has become significantly louder. Especially the left one. My Borlas and Magnaflow high flow cats have been on a long time so they are broken in. I don't understand how it got so loud within a few days. I posted a thread about this already but it's getting old and ignored and I'm stressing out due to the possibility that something is wrong. A couple of guys were nice enough to advise me that I might have "blown a cat". How do I know if that's the problem for sure???
Thanks.
Thanks.
