Question What kind of gains?

Right now I have the K&N Intake. I'm thinking about getting the JLT but don't know if it's worth it. Does anybody know what kind of gains I'd be looking at over the K&N? I'll be getting a new tune from Bama if I do it.

~5-7hp maybe, K&N intakes are better than people give them credit for.

I am not sure how much you will gain over the K&N, but with the JLT and Bamatune, I gained 20RWHP and about 25RWTQ.

I had the C&L True Race intake on my s197. I would think about giving that one a look instead of the JLT. Just my .02

I have had both the JLTII CAI and C&L Racer CAI.

C&L seems higher quality but the install can be a little harder because it seemed to come off a lot at first... might have been from the temperature fluctuating though as I installed it when the seasons were changing. It hasn't come off now that it's been adjusted a few times.

Unfortunately I have not seen any tests comparing the two, only comparing the JLTII and the C&L Street Intake. The C&L Street and JLTII were neck and neck though, and the Street is 6mm smaller than the JLTII. The C&L Racer is 6mm bigger than the JLTII and 12mm bigger than the C&L Street, so I'd think it makes more power than either.

My recommendation is the C&L Racer.

Sounds like I might need to look at the C&L.

I have the JLT and it works fine, but you can't go wrong with JLT, C&L or Steeda.

Those three CAIs are going to be roughly equivalent. You may want to think about the larger MAF housing (95mm on the Racer) if you plan a lot more N/A bolt ons.

The power gain is really mostly in the tune. You should definitely pull the trigger on a package deal from Bama, Brenspeed, etc. CAI, Tuner, and tunes.

It was one of the first mods I did and I thought, "holy sh*t!".

P.S. I see you are 'auto'. I've heard really good things about Bama's tunes for automatics.

I doubt it would be worth the cash, maybe a couple of horses to the wheels. In good weather, I had trapped over 108 mph when I just had the K&N CAI & tune.
