Default Not too loud exhausts

If I were to swap mufflers what do you guys recommend, just to get a little meaner V8 sound?? I had an MRT single muffler on my 2006 V6, and that thing was deep but LOUD, even as a single on a 4.0. I was thinking about these:

can those be heard a mile away like the MRT??????

There is a lot of info in the exhaust sticky along with sound clips if I recall.

GTA's are your best bet for louder than stock but not rattle your neighbor's window loud. Also, no drone! I have them on mine and they are louder and sound better than the stockers. They also look a hell of a lot better. I got mine here:

Of course, I got mine right before xmas for 285.00.....may want to call and ask for a better deal.

my vote is for the gta's as well. I installed them on my car and in the process of the install I fired the car up with one stock muffler and one gta. the difference was definately noticable but not obnoxiously loud. as the guy above said no drone.. good looking big chrome tips as well.

Thanks for the info, those kind of look like the ones that came with it, mine came with what they call "rolled exhaust tips", looks like chrome tips, just the GTAs look a bit wider. It's kind of hard to tell from youtube clips etc. how it is in real life, like I didin't expect the MRT to be that loud after hearing it on youtube than installing it. I like the look of the ones from ford/Borla stingers....do those drone ???

Supposedly they do at around 1700-1900 RPM. They are also quite a bit louder than the stock mufflers. The rolled tips you are talking about are 2.5"? in dia while the GTA's are 4".

The GTA's supposedly don't drone. The GT's (Stingers) do.

$600!!!!!!!!!! JESUS!!!!!!!!! Looks like two folgers cans with pipe coming out the end.

The GTA's are not much louder than stock. The stingers you linked to can be heard from 2 miles away.
