Default Rear Lowering Springs

Hey I just installed the rear springs to my car the other day (lol didnt have a spring compressor or the time to rent one... and wont until next week when its back in the 60s.... lol its freeezing..and yes my rear end is sitting lower than the front) But when i took the stock ones out the insulator thing fell out, and wouldnt go back in so i just took both out and stuck the springs in... In hindsight I'm wondering if this was bright.. just sticking them in theere without padding..?

Do i need to take the sprigns out and put the OEM insulators on again or could I leave it how it is.. or would just putting a heater hose around the first couple coils suffice? (actually i have an idea with that, would it get rid of some wheel gap with people with the stock back springs to take the insulator out and just like thread on a heater hose on the stock spring and put it in...?)

thanks!
