Default Need the experts cant figure out whats wrong

OK heres the deal, the car is an 05 manual v8. It runs fine untill Im on the highway and cruising at about 70-80 for about 15-20 mins, then the car will throw a check engine light lose some power, and it will be running pretty lean around 18 to 1 or so( I have a wideband 02 sensor). It does this for about 5-10 sec and then the symptoms go away and the engine runs fine. I have the xcalibrator so I can check DTCs, but the ECM doesn't store any codes nor will it read any when the actual CEL is flashing. Please help, I am a marine mechanic so I know my way around engines but I cant figure out where to start with this one.

maybe someone can post a link to the
fuel pump hesitation on cruise TSB for
you.

i'm not saying it's that for sure, but just
something you may want to read and
think about

The fuel pump TSB was my first thought, too. I'll try to look it up but I'm at work right now and don't have access to my normal files and shortcuts.

Yep - check the TSB first and then look at a possible O2 sensor on the fritz.

I'd take it to the dealer if you can duplicate it easily.

First take it to autozone and see if they can pull a code.

depends - if you are staying with a 75 or 100 shot max - I personally don't think you need it and can get away with just a BAP.

Yea, pull the DTC codes and go from there just as Ford would do.
