exactly what I was going to say. Just throw the old one on whenever you take it in. Welcome!

Could someone please tell me why Ford is making such a big fuss about me putting a cold air intake and tuner on it?
Get the CAI and tune and forget what Ford has to say about it...

If you need warranty work return the car to the stock intake and tune for motor work. For anything else leave it on but tell them NOT to reflash the the computer or the car may not start!

From previous experience... dealership wanted me to buy a CAI from them and only them, then they would promise warranty. Not to mention they wanted to charge $250 :-/

Dealers are in this business to make money, so there's not much else to expect from them. The nice thing about a CAI and Tune is they take all of 30 minutes to install or uninstall. I service my own ride, but even if I didn't I'd just put the stock intake back on for oil changes and/or service.

Search feature. 100's of threads on this.

My suggestion: If this is your wifes car and she can't tell performance between a VW bus and a Ferrari, I wouldn't bother. But if it's also YOUR toy, then by all means check out the CAI & tune combos on the Brenspeed, Bamachips and VMP Tuning sites. They typically add 15-25 or more RWHP. A CAI alone won't do jack more than about 5-8 RWHP.

Thanks.Yes it's my toy to so I want the performance out of it. As far a s the dealer I don't know why it would be any skin off their back but anyhow that's what I was going to do was to change the CAI back and/or depending on the service re-tune back to stock.
