How harsh are they? Jar fillings loose harsh or just a little worse than stock? Maybe somewhere inbetween? Were they worth it for you?
I love mine, you feel the engine that is for sure (but not to bad I don't think), but it is a feeling I like. Now, I am not sure what it would be like with after market cam's..

There is a little more vibration on start-up & @ idle.
Not much else you'll notice.
After a few weeks, you'll not even notice that.
I installed mine for strictly to cure a steering shaft rub with my LT's in hard cornering. Worth that IMO. Can't comment about strip benefits.

aircare, my steering column has always rubbed my LTs since I installed them. How much clearance did the motor mounts give you? Are they the Prothanes?

sailing,
The prothenes gave me approx 3/16-1/4" clearance, but that was enough as the motor doesn't flex anymore. I only had a problem in hard cornering & installing the prothenes eliminated any rub I had.
Bought mine from Laurel Mountain Mustang on ebay, around 120 if I remember correctly. And yes, they are the Prothenes.
