Saleen Supercharger tweaks!?!
Hey all,
So I like to research alot before I turn a bolt (not screw, thanks 07 ;-) anyway, I found this install guide:
http://www.trailprints.com/saleensupercharger
and it looked to be helpful, but saw this paragraph and I figured I would ask here if anyone could elaborate on this paragraph, as through independant searching, I have not found anything that clearly lays this out:
Any help would be great, thanks.

This step didn't make any sense to me at first... but you are taking out the stop bolt in order to give yourself room to work when tightening down the supercharger to the heads later on.. as there is a bolt hole directly underneath the stop bolt that is one of the 10 head bolts, and if you don't remove this little guy, you can't put in the bolt later.
As a little tip for those that haven't searched all the forums, this stop bolt can be put in further after re-installing it later, the additional travel that it allows the vacuum plunger gives you a little more top-end vacuum, and therefore more boost at high rpms... hmmmm
Additionally, loosening up the two allen bolts on the boost plunger and pushing the plunger all the way down will allow for an earlier boost engagement.

basically in order to install one of the
bolts that hold the s/c down, you have to
prepare the area.
the saleen install manual has you do a couple
of steps that keep everything out of the
way while you put the bolt in and tighten it
down.

JD, I just took a look at that link u provided. He gave a great tip, and something we wished we would have known.
That short coolant tube, do not push on further than you need to to get a good clamp. After mounting the unit we had not enough hose to reach and clamp well, and didn't want to go backwards removing the SC. so we screwed around and finally did get the hose pulled up some so would fit on both ends ok.

I understand needing to remove a bolt to get it to physicaly fit.... lol, what I'm talking about is the rest of the paragraph where they are talking about ways to tweak the plunger. Thats what they didnt elaborate on and isnt otherwise pretty straightforward to someone who has never messed with it.
