Default Might be running rich, need someont to help verify...

I recently got a new tune from Bamachips and I'm noticing that it's running differently than it was with my old tune. I think it's running rich but I'm not sure. Here are some of the symptoms I'm experiencing.

1) Lots more smoke when idling then before.
2) Lots more popping from the exhaust when I come off the throttle.
3) The car seems to have this huge surge of power at 3000rpm in low gears.
4) It's only done it once so far, but I think I heard it detonate really once when I tried to start it the other day.

I've been driving it for a couple days with this tune and it hasn't thrown any engine codes or anything.

All you have to do is call Doug and tell him whats going on. He'll take care of you.

The only way to really know what your car is running for A/F ratio is to get it dyno tuned. This way they will check your A/F ratio and and adjust the tune for more power. Otherwise you'll have no way of knowing if it's too rich/too lean etc. Too rich you will be losing power you're gonna wish you had. I had it done and very happy with the results. 281/301 before, and 315/321 after. Custom tunes will be very safe at the cost of lost power and running rich. N/A engines don't need the a/f so rich.

Yea, a dyno tune is on my list of things to do. But I can't justify the cost with the little mods I have done. If I do get one, I'll wait till I get cams or something bigger.

Sounds like its running to lean. More air is more power but also more air is more dangerous. Those are all symptoms of a car running to lean, a car thats running to rich is going to bog down and run like crap.

Yea, that's why I recently switched from a Diablosport Predator to a SCT Livewire tuner. I've been thinking about getting some cams, and if I do then I will definitely be getting a dyno tune.
