Default The hole in the back of the block.

Hey guys, got a question about the hole in the back of our blocks. The one that is in the valley to allow drainage. where does that go? The reason I ask is while installing my supercharger, we accidently dropped the cap for the coolant crossover back there, and I want to know what it would hit if it goes down there. Want to know if the flywheel or anything moving for that matter, is back there. If there is, I gotta pull the supercharger off to get it out. thanks for any help.

I'm pretty sure this is the exist for that hole. did the cap fall into the hole or is it just in the valley under the supercharger? I'm not sure the cap would even fit and if it did, I don't think it would cause any problems for the flywheel.

yeah, I think that is the backside of the hole, so if it fell in there it would grind up against the flywheel huh?

Yep, i'd say that's the hole. It could get caught between the block and flywheel, but i'd be more concerned about it falling all the way down and getting stuck in the flywheel teeth.

Can it even fit in that hole?

I dropped a telescopic magnet back there.

The guy I had install my clutch called me laughing. It managed to line up with that hole, slide in, and grind itself flat against the flywheel.

I can't believe it didn't get completely chewed up.

So, the moral of the story is this: be careful what you drop in there. You never know where it'll end up or what it'll plug up.
