Default what the use for a cleaning agent?

I got my car all pulled apart right now. Just wondering what I should use to clean the MAF and throttle body? Is brake cleaner good or should I use something else. thanks.

brake cleaner will work great as it totally evaporates and leaves no residue.... I think you can find MAF cleaner too but I am sure it is the same thing....make sure it is totally dry before installing and using!

Thanks, I will have to pick some up this weekend. Sure it will have enough time to dry, as it snowed tons and the temp dropped below -20 celcuis again.

I've used a non-residue contact cleaner on my MAF numerous times on my SUV with no problems.

Would isopropyl alcohol work? Should you clean your MAF on a regular basis or just if you have problems. Thanks...

dont use isopropyl as it will leave a residue on the MAF...

I would clean mine if it needed it and I would check it every time I re-oil the CAI......others do it sooner but I wont unless I detect a problem..(i.e.-gauges, rough idle, any other symptom etc)

I bought that k&n recharge kit for my filter, how can you tell when you put enough oil on the filter. It came with the arisol can to spray the oil on. Do you just spray the outside of the filter as well, thanks!

Use non-chlorinated brake clean to clean the MAF.
