Hey guys, take a look at this and let me know what you think. want to make sure this is how it should sound. This is the brenspeed stage 3 package. Sounds like maybe something is grinding to me? dunno though, maybe this is just how they sound? let me know what you think, specificaly the last 6 seconds or so of the movie.

i have heard that the saleens can sound
kinda noisy, but i'm not sure if that is
normal or not. i have to wonder if there's
oil in the s/c...
maybe one of the saleen guys will know what's
going on there.

I was kinda wondering the same thing. It seems to quiet down after I have got on it a few times. Maybe the oil is low or something? once it gets wicked up sounding better, then settles down afterwards? I dunno, gonna call brenspeed in the morning I think and link them that.

Don't you have to add the oil yourself?
I don't know why whipple is the only manufacturer to give you a sight glass. I like to be able to see the oil level and even the color. My oil is still very clear after 14,000 miles.
That noise doesn't sound right.
Did you just rev a cold engine?

yes i installed it myself. Dont see how that would relate to there may be too little oil or possability that the screw housing isnt machined right... but anyway, no you do not add oil yourself to these. They come ready to go.
I called brenspeed, showed them the vid. They said some are just considerably louder then others. Told me where I can go to check the oil, though I have to remove some stuff to get to it. They also told me where to get the S/N off the supercharger so they can call saleen and see where this particular unit fell when they noise tested it at the factory (one of the tolerances they have.) They said they wouldnt be too concerened at this point, but we can do the above mentioned to give some peace of mind. Expecialy if word comes back from saleen that my unit was just a loud unit....

in a way i kinda hope it is low on oil, that way
when you add some, it will quiet down.
hopefully you can't hear this noise while inside the car,
that would be very annoying to me.
i can see saleen s/c sales falling, if the
noise isn't reduced.
