Default RIMS n' TIRES

My new mustang should get here in around two weeks and im going to replace the Rims and Wheels to 18'. Anyone have suggestions or thoughts on what rims/wheels i should buy. And how much will new 17' rims and normal tires from the GT mustang get me(as in money).

Check out mustangtuning.com. They got a lot of wheels that look like a perfect match for a stang and good prices too. The only other wheels I think would look good on a stang aside from what you can find from them would be Volk TE-37's, but it doesnt seem right to put a japanese wheel on the car not to mention the cash difference.

I second the deep dish remark but have you thought about 19's? They're more money and tires cost more too but IMO they're worth it. Not too big, not too small. These cars are begging to have their wheel wells filled. Wish I could afford them right now. If your set on 18's, I think the Steeda Ultralites are nice.

It all depends on what look you are trying to achieve and how you plan on driving it. For me, filling the wheelwell with more rubber (and smoke ) instead of more metal was the only way to go. And just because you get 19's, doesn't necessarily mean they will fill up any more. It depends on the profile of the tire too. For example, a 275/35-19 is still shorter than the stock 255/50-17.

But, whatever you do, get what will work (and look) best to YOU...

Actually the stock tires are 235/55/17. Anyway, check out Ebay, they have a great selection of 18' 2005 mustang rims new with warranty for a lot cheaper than the popular online shops.

Deep-dish would be nice, but due to the offset, the best you'll do is a wide lip unless you want your wheels/tires to stick out past the fenders.

Yes, 235... sorry about the typo. But my statement still stands, a 275/35-19 is still ~1/2" shorter than the stock tire/wheel.

I agree!! I spent many, many hours trying to find deep dish bullitts that would fit, and the nasty little offset/backspacing gremlin shot me in the azz over and over. But, I'm not too disappointed... I really like what I got.

Don,

When are you getting that chin spoiler? What color are you painting it? Which chin spoiler are you getting?

don_w: How did you decide on the proper width?(255/275/285) I'm going with the 18"x9" Saleen rim. Profile I understand but width seems to be the one thing I see variations of. I want more rubber than rim.
