Contrary to what manufacturers claim, it is has been shown by several dyno tests that mufflers don't really do jack (power-wise) for these cars. I wouldn't do it unless you want the awesome sound...which many do.

Other than that its just little differences in the sound based on construciton.

You know how the starter on every car sounds different? Its the same principle...gotta find what you like.

Is it possible to lose gas mileage as a result of changing the mufflers?

Not being a tuner....my limited auto knowledge says no...if anything it will improve. Unless of course your mufflers are made of lead and the mufflers end up weighing 500lbs....lol

I personally think the Borlas sound better than the Corsa mufflers. But the Corsa mufflers definitely have a unique sound unlike any of the others. You have to search youtube for some videos of sound samples.

But I really think those two are some of the best options out there.

What mufflers sound good with an O/R X-pipe, and will all flow-through mufflers (Borla Stingers, Boomtubes, Corsas) be just excruciatingly loud?
Shameless plug for my mufflers for sale - check out my FRPP GTA's with a catted-x pipe. https://mustangforums.com/forum/s197...frpp-gtas.html These are the same mufflers that come on the Shelby GT-500.

If you want louder and more aggressive than stock but not real loud and also drone-free, you'd probably like these. Follow the link & scroll down for a video clip.

Chambered mufflers are your problem. For an x-pipe use unchambered mufflers. If you use chambered mufflers and want the best sound use an H-pipe. The H-pipe will give you a deeper sound and the x-pipe will give you a more throaty sound.
