MGW is very notchy compared to stock. No way around it. I'm sure all the aftermarket shifters will be as well. Like said earlier, the shorter the throw you set the MGW too, the notchier it will be. I've been meaning to lengthen my throw to get some of the notchiness out of it, but have been too lazy.

Like anything, you do get use to how the shifting feels (I'm sure that has a lot to do with "breaking it in"). I really think that the sloppiness of the stock shifter is what gave it such a smooth throw.
