BBK Twin Throttle Body Installation Hints For 05+ GT
I went through hell trying to install this piece onto the car....here are some general pointers to make your life easier! PLEASE READ TO AVOID FAILSAFE and Trouble Codes!
1. The T-20 screws on the stock T.B. have locktight on them! If you are not careful they will either strip or even worse, the heads will break off. USE CAUTION!
2. When moving the T.B. motor spring onto the BBK, there not kidding when they say counterclockwise! Also, make sure you line up the small and large tabs. They will fit in the reverse way, but will not work correctly. The T.B. should have a good ammount of pressure when you try to move the valves by hand.
3. Dont even bother waiting until the T.B. is installed and the car is in FAILSAFE, use the Digital Voltmeter before testing car. Being voltage below 1.31. TPS is very picky, car went into FAILSAFE with a reading of 1.41!
4. Key log the car prior to starting. Turn the key on/off 4 times, start on the 5th.
BBK'S crappy directions are bull****, test voltage and keylog prior to starting. These are not troubleshooting suggestions like the manual states. They should be done anyway!
I am new to this forum, many of you think this is common knowledge, however if your new like me and googled up advice, here ya are!
