Default LucasOil yay or nay

what is the consensus out there?

I'm in Toronto, and drive the car in the winter
I run RoyalPurple 5w20 year round in the engine oil, trans and differential.

I used to run Lucas oil in my prior Cavalier RS with the 3.1L V6 motor and that thing went to 340,000KM until i sold it to a kid in ottawa, and is still running today!

do you guys thin the Lucas + Royal purple is a good bet or just stick with Royal only?

Any quality oil, changed at an appropriate frequency along with the filter, provides equal protection. If you want to use a boutique oil (I use Amsoil in the Stang and Mobil1 in my SUV), that's fine but other than possibly extending your oil change frequencies, you're not seeing any benefits.

I used it as well in my 92 t-bird. I didn't swear by it, but it wasn't causing me any issues so I just kept on putting it in :P

The car had around 95K on it when it was totaled in 05 :/ I miss that car...

Default Snake Oil

Use a good full synthetic oil and forget the snake oil.

The blends (which come in our Stangs from the factory) are decent. You just need to change the oil a bit more frequently (about 5k-7k miles) than you do with full syn.

Check out the new "oil and oil related issues" section of the forums.
