Default Engines, Engines, engines...

Well, I sent a couple e-mails at to a couple different engine places. Basically to see how much it would cost for a good N/A setup 3V Longblock.

One with high compression and if worth it some extra cubes.

Couple places quote me around $11-12k, really not worth it, but one much less! I'm just leary. They also said that it'll be worth 425 to the rear wheels, and I sent a message back asking if they mean with supporting mods (IE, Exhaust, Intake, etc.) and waiting their reply...

What do you guys think?

I honestly think that pricing comes in a distant second to reputation and quality when it comes to buying a motor.

I'd pay what one of the top 3 asked and call it a day, if I'm honest...

I am going between Livernois and BBR to build my shortblock. Luckily I have some time.

Goal period is to have a reliable engine, high compression, never looking to Supercharge or Turbo. So a stroked 5.0, heads, cams, etc... and the only reason I'm surprised is he is saying close to 425 rwhp. I know some people on here have the same or similar setups and only making like 400 rwhp and that's with intake, pullies, headers, etc. So I dunno.

And if you have it to spend.

Not everyone has the 10 or 15k to dump into a motor.

Personally, I think for 10 or 15k, that motor better come with a turbo kit.
