i think what you are saying is that the crank threads are stripped??

try helicoil.

ah the shop i went to told me i'd need to replace the entire crankshaft...?

i had it towed to my actual performance shop and the guy there basically said poppycock and was like "i find it very very very unlikely that the crank is broken..and if its threaded you could probably just put a longer bolt in... if not a helicoil..." so they're checking on it tomorrow..

but if for my usually unfortunate luck, i need to replace the crank, what should i do? Since i'd already be paying out the wazoo would it be any beneficial to just get a new crate motor or stroke the b*tch?

Any gains w/ the bolt on mods below?

If you have too replace the crank get a whole new motor or at least forged internals and a cobra crankshaft or any forged aftermarket one...now your ready to go FI!!!!

Or do a stroker is 10.5:1 compression and put some nitrous on that bad boy.

Bad crank sounds far fetched though, I am sure it will be simpler than that.

You could also find a whole running engine for $1500 and put that in and spend the time to upgrade yours later.
