Default JBA LTs steering shaft clearence

Hi,

I have e common problem I think with my JBA Long Tubes.
When turning hard right the headers thouch the steering shaft.

I have read some here on the forum, and thought about new mounts BUT.
Many people also writes about shifting the engine a little to the other side.
As it should be some space in the hydra mounts to play with.

I thought I should try this now on Sunday.

What do I need to do to do this?
Just realse the two mounts? Is it then possible to shift it some?
Or is there anything else?

Thanks
Daniel

I would say just get the HD motor mounts because the hydro mounts suck anyway especially when you start to have some power...I have yet to install my JBA LTs yet with the motor mounts though but have heard thats the best way to fix hitting the steering shaft

I will try shifting it first.
Many does not have those clearence issues. And I belive thats because the engine can be shifted a little bit to one or the other side.
Im not going to put any more horses in it

Im happy
Did try this thing today, and it works!

Did just realsed the mounts a little and taked a ironbar and done
There where plenty of room in the mount to shift to either side.

No need for new mounts.

Linde, can you give more information on which bolts you loosened? Did you only loosen the 15mm nuts on the top of the mm stud, or did you loosen the bolts that bolt the motor mount to the chassis?

I will try to give some more info in my swedishenglish
I only loosen the 15mm bolts on the top of motor mounts.
If you take them off completely you can se how much you can move the engine. And you do also see when you have moved it. There is a pretty big hole to play with.

Im so happy now
It took a year to do it.. And so simple.

That is all I needed to know. Thanks a lot Linde! I will try this this week when I get some time, because I think my JBA shorties may end up rubbing if I do some aggressive cornering.
