Default 2007 gt motor swap

I have a 07 gt and im thinking of putting in a 4.0L w/ twin Garret turbos in it. Im thinking I can make more HP, but save some weight by losing the 4.6L motor. I have a freshened 4.0L already. What do yall think.

I've been told that the 4.0 is only 16lbs lighter than the aluminum gt block.

I hope this isn't a serious post b/c this seems like the dumbest idea ever. Forget the whole 245 v. 281 arguement, if you think 16lbs is worth a motor swap you need you head examined.

But the twin turbo set-up will add a lot more than 16 lbs to the project....
Stock is about 3550Lbs for my marginally equipped V6.
My door sticker shows 4340Lbs for some reason.
Maybe thats fully loaded?

Eat a few less hamburgers if the 16Lbs is bugging you that much. JK

Or try taking a closer look at the inside of the OEM Panhard Bar.
Its loaded with about 10Lbs of un-needed lead shot for some reason.

I'll trade ya motors. :P

Dont worry about 16 pounds. If your concerned about that small of a weight issue then you've got to take into consideration your weight, your passengers weight, + 3lbs for clothes, etc.. 16 pounds isn't anything. Heck your going to have to take out floor mats and everything just to loose the extra weight.

However I think the Twin Turbo idea is awesome!! Why not TT your 4.6? I thought the 4.6 could handle a lot more HP than the 4.0??

A single turbo or s/c combo on the 4.6 will outgun that 4.0 anyday. Unless your talking about forging the 4.0 then it could outpower the 4.6.
But then again, if you spend that kinda change, keep the motor ya got, forge it, then boost it. No replacement for displacement. Throw boost into the equation equally, and the 4.0 is still behind the 4.6. Doesnt seem like a logical plan to me.
But if you are into spending money just for the sake of being different, then go for it. The idea of doing it just to save the weight equivilant to what ya poop out for a whole week, seems ridiculous, when the additional power of the 4.6 will easily overcome the extra weight.

How 'bout a 4 banger?
You'll be close to a 100lbs lighter.
Or put your GT mill in your Accord...
