Default '07 GT HP Question

I just posted this same question in the "Brag" section in the forums, but realized I should create a new thread....

Just tech wise on my new '07 GT... I installed a BBK 62mm throttle body, BBK Coldair and a Pypes Cat-Back exhaust. The "specs" say that each increases HP by 15 or so.... since my stock 'stang is 300hp, what would the combines HP be? Should I get a new "Tune"? It would be nice if it were +45hp... Just looking for rough opinions =)

* Not "tuned"

My 2007 Mustang GT.

Do you have a tuner too? I would say at least 30HP, I'm no expert at all but 45 seems a little high

BTW you have the best color of mustang. Ever.

I can tell you that unfortunately, the throttle body wont do crap unless our F/I. You might have 325 crank TOPS, you really need to get a tune man that will make a world of difference. Not only for HP, but for throttle response and raising your redline.

What do you mean "...our F/I"... Fuel Injection upgrade???

My biggest concern is the throttle response. I hit the gas at idle and it seems to take its time rev'ing up. I'd like to get a quick instant response... a good tune improves that?

bolivianpimp, your Mustang looks "sick"... wow...

Get underdrive pully's and one piece driveshaft, and lower gears for quick rev's.Your rear wheel hp might be around 265.Get a tune and be on a dyno.

F/I = forced induction(supercharger, turbo)
With your car's mods the hp increase is modest at best => 15 hp(+/-) at the wheels.
The new exhaust nets only a few hp as the stock exhaust has excellent flow, and the TB nets nothing for a N/A engine as stated by others. The only decent increase is from the CAI, and it's probably only 10 hp or so.
A tune will not only improve throttle response, but it will also increase hp(A 93 octane tune provides the biggest increase). Just make sure the tune is designed for your BBK CAI.

So, I have a $289 BBK Throttle Body for looks... nice!

I'm not looking for mean HP, was just looking for some addons to make it alittle meaner then stock.

Looks like the next step is a tune. Thanks for the replies!

At the moment - it is virtually for looks. Think of it as your stepping stone to a supercharger.

Get the tune and yo uwill notice a HUGE difference. It will account for your mods and truly wake the car up.

+1 The tune is what actually wakes the car up. The CAI helps, but the tune will allow the engine to use the extra air more efficiently creating more power. Definitely get a tuner and a canned tune from Brenspeed/Bama or a dyno tune.

A tune will make your car jumpy as hell as soon as you touch the accelerator. TRUST ME its definitely a worthy mod. Its no good if you buy mods, but then dont get a tuner to actually adjust your car to the mods.

Thanks for the car comment
