Attached is a photo from brenspeed's site for the 3+. Brand new that's what it looks like.

To me, and I'm no expert by any stretch, it looks like it was pretty much worn completely out and the material is gone entirely now. No wonder it was slipping.

The car only had 3000 miles or so on this clutch? Then I'm going to have to take a guess that somewhere along the line that clutch got the living hell beat (or rather slipped) out of it. Alternately, the installation was flawed from the beginning which resulted in increased wear.

This clutch only had 800 miles on it and 3 1/4 mile passes. I don't think it was install more like a defective product! Brenspeed knows how to install a clutch.

You'll probably never really know what it was that caused it. It's one of those things that is gonna be tough to figure out after the fact. Not knowing any better all sorts of things seem to me like they could cause that. Defective part, bad installation, bad break-in leading to premature failure/wear, or abuse. Having the benefit of knowing you I realize you aren't some newb who doesn't know how to operate a clutch. So abuse seems unlikely. Ditto on bad install from brenspeed because as you mentioned they know wtf they are doing.

What matters most is what Brenspeed tells you and I'm real curious to see how they handle it. Let us know what they say.. I hope you get rolling in time for the 5th.
