At the track last night...
So I went to the local track last night and had something interesting happen and I wanted to know what you guys thought. I have had my tune loaded for about a week and had my battery unplugged( pcm reset) at the dealer for the fuel pump TSB. Anyhow, my first run down was 13.46 @ 102.9...which I thought wasn't that bad. So I figured, maybe if I can make it better by redownloading the tune...it'll get better. Next run was 13.68,next 13.70, next 13.8. Could redownloading the tune have done anything with the adaptive learning process and how the car shifts and so forth. It seemed to shift harder right after the download and seemed to lose traction off the line and more during the shifts. Anyone have any thoughts?

I have the slips in front of me now.
It takes like 45 min to get to the track (all expressway)...it rested about a 1/2hr before the 1st run..again 13.464. Next run was in 12min...13.68. next run 22min...13.71. next run 10min...13.62. next run 41 min...13.688. last run 25 min...13.848.
I wondered about heat soak. Any good suggestions time wise between runs. (I keep my hood up too.)
Thanks

heat soak. Generally when I go to the track, my first run is my best run, because I get there at least an hour before they open the track. Best thing to do is to either let you car cool down at least 1/2 hour to 45 min in between runs, ice the intake, or get an electric water pump so it can cool down while your sitting in the staging lanes

Agree with the others that heatsoak causes an engine to lose power.
However, you also stated that the tranny shifted harder after you D/L the tune causing more tire spin during launching and shifting. This indicates that the tranny was more responsive, which may reduce your times if the tire spinning can be eliminated or even reduced. Suggest D/L the tune when you initially arrive at the track the next time, and see if that reduces your e.t. Obviously, this assumes that conditions are similar, i.e., ambient temp, humidity level, wind velocity and direction, and track prep.

I swapped tunes at the track before and got worse times as well. I think the tranny actually shirts best when it's has the tune after a few runs. The first run, it just shifts kinda off imo. And the added torque off the line dosen't really do much unless you are able to really be on point and control some of it.
