SCT Flash Tuner/Steeda CAI Tune ? HELP!!
Hello all,
I have been trying to learn as much as I can so pardon the ignorance......
I just got an SCT Flash tuner with the Steeda Carbon CAI from American muscle and it came with a free custom tune....I chose 93 octane performance. I know form what I have been reading that you all say AM is crap for tuning and to get a Brenspeed tune ASAP. My question is is it ok to just try the AMercian Muscle one first or the ones programmed on the SCT tuner and see how it goes? It won't hurt my car right? How hard is it to get a Brenspeed tune then get in on the tuner and into my car without screwing it up. i do have a custom tune place a 1/2 hour away but don't have the $300 now to spend on that right now. How worth it is it to get a custom tune. i only have an MGW short throw and corsa axlebacks on my car. Thanks for all the hep!!!!!

I have a Steeda CAI intake (not carbon fiber) and an SCT II tuner.
The SCT will hold 3 tunes. If you bought the tuner pre-loaded, install the Steeda intake (tank full of 93 gas) then plug in the SCT and select the tune that American Muscle sent you.
If you buy another tune, you need the download software installed on your computer. It will ask when you grab the e-mail file what to call the tune and what spot to put it in...just don't select the Amer.Muscle tune and you should be safe.
You can always flash back to stock, this in not one of the 3 tune spots.
1. Purchase tune from Brenspeed
2. Receive tune as an e-mail attachment (safe attach on desktop)
3. Go to website and download SCT software
4. Plug SCT into USB port
5. Open software and select attachment
6. Save to SCT
7. Plug SCT into car

Here are the software links for the xcal 2. Basically do what Margarita Girl said.
http://sctflash.com/getupdates.php (xcal 2 drivers for Windows)
http://sctflash.com/getupdates.php (live load software use this to load the tunes on to your flash device)
Links for xcal3

You may want to poke around the site so I might have missed something.
