Question Are Boom Tubes the same as glass packs

I am thinking about installing Boom Tubes on my 06 Gt. They are referred to as a muffler deletes by some of the suppliers. Are the Boom Tubes the same as glass packs or are they more like straight pipes with a resonators. I heard that glass packs will eventually burn out.

They are like straight pipes but have a spiral pattern of what are almost like teeth on the inside. A friend of mine has them on his 05, you won't be dissapointed.

I believe glass packs are like FRPP/Borla stingers, boom tubes look like two massive straight pipes with hooks mounted on an angle towards the exit of the exhaust.

Read the post about midway down the page by DarkfireGT, it will shed some light on the difference.

And look at this for an inside view of the boomtubes

As can be seen in the pics, Boomtubes use a spiral louvered baffle. The sound is incredible.

they sound like glass packs on the youtube videos I have watched, flowmasters sounds alot better, anything with a name like boomtube doesn't sound like a good product

lol! Flowmasters sound good on the older stangs, but for strictly an axleback boomtubes win hands down IMO. Flowmasters seem no louder then stock. Ill save the 300 for that difference.

Flows vs Boomtubes.... no comparison. I ran over a year with Flowmaster ATs on my 06GT, and they put me to sleep. No more volume than stock. Replaced the Flows with Boomtubes, and it really woke up the car. Excellent sound, IMO. Here's a clip w/ the Boomtubes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oqqIqWpQRQ
