Hey there,

I spent some time asking this same ? and everyone told me the same thing it's all a personal opinion
so I spent some more time looking at both web sites for these 2 tools and here is my opinion.

The sct is a point and flash unit that comes with a flash for your 2005 and if you want more you gota pay for more flashes. Note: many people have went with this and seem happy.

The Predator is pretty much plug and go as well and comes with 3 flashes 87"stock" 91 oct & 93 octane and for $120 they will work with you and make you a custom tune if you have alot of mods this is a nice thing and will alter it as many times as you need "Via Email" in tell you are happy.

The one thing that the predator has over the sct is that after you flash your stang you can adjust just about every thing from a-z and then some.

I went with the Predator for those reasons and it also has a data logger so you can see how your adjustments affect the car or just to watch your stang at Wide open while sitting at your PC.

I will also say that even just stock to the 93 octane flash I noticed a big change in the way the car reponds.

Hope this helps you out.

wait now i dont understang something now..
i though you need it to tune your car to work better with a cold air intake.
im looking to keep my mustang simple for now.

cold air intake now,
pullies, and exhaust soon..
i have the car only a month now.
but anyway what is the pourpose of the two sct and pred ..
i didnt know anything about the octane tuning.
our cars originally run on 87octane
which i have been using.
so in order to buy a steeda intake i woulnd need a tune?
or do you just tune your car to make it run on 92 /93 octane?
im a little in a rush so sorry if i didnt make any sence here.

I have the X-cal mine was set up at a dyno shop any changes I want done I can go there and get them to give me the proper tune. If you feel comfortable making your own changes than the predator is the way to go.My dyno shop is a licensed dealer and installer for both he recommended the X-CAL to me because of there customer service center.

The tuners come with a program in it so that you can run 87 or 93 no matter which tuner you get you will have to tell them what mods you have so the car can be sat up to run properly you do have to have a tuner to run a CAI.Thats why I went with a dyno shop to buy mine through and have them set it up.

You can definitely feel a difference with the CAI. You have to get one or the other to use the CAI.There is a connection on lower part of the dash next to left knee.To program SCT turn key to off position select program on tuner wait for the tuner to sit itself up when it is ready all lights will blink turn the key to on position but do not start the car and wait for the tuner to load. The tuner will hold the factory tune and it is just as easy to put back in.

ok what about this..

im somewhat favoring the predator.. dont know why.. probably because of the screen or whatever.
it says it is pretuned for
555-3120 Cold Air Intake Kit
555-3125 Charge Motion Plates
555-3126 Charge Motion Plates for N2O
040-130040 Steeda Axle-Back Exhaust

and says you can also tune
Timing table (+10% / -40%)
· Dual fuel adjustment points (2000-4000 RPM / 4000-7000 RPM)
· Fuel table (+40% / -15%)
· Idle (+/- 20%)
· Global Timing adder -6 degrees /+4 degrees
· Raise Speed Limiter
· Rev Limiter
· Re-Calibrate Speedometer for Gear and Tire Size Changes
· RPM Shift Points, adjustable via MPH
· Cooling Fan ON/OFF Temperatures
· All parameters can be adjusted on the Custom Steeda tune and/or the factory tune

now when you want to load more tunes onto your pred. do you have to pay extra..

or even with teh sct how does that work..

maybe im asking dumb questions. but i want to get the most for my money and i will be doing everything myself im sure its not hard but i do want it to be pretty easy i dont need a headache. lol.

To answer one of your ?'s both systems use the ODBII connector located just to the left of the steering wheel on the under side of the dash.

You can flash tune your car even stock with no add on parts to use 91 or 93 octane and get an increase to power, But if you put on a CAI to get any proformance from it then you have to flash your car or you will be running to lean like 13:3:1 and they say you are not killing your car but I say if it's not
going as fast as it can then you are.

Both systems will let you flash back to the factory any time you want.

I was able to go to Predators page and get a custom tune for my C&L CAI with no problem.

The best way to avoid trouble is to pick your CAI and then make sure that sct or the predator have a custom tune for it install it flash it and go to a Dyno
shop and fine tune it for any other mods that you have done to your Pony.

I belive that sct will do a custom tune for you unsure about $ from them and I know that Predator will also do it for $120 and will keep adjusting it till you are happy or just find a Dyno shop and let them do it for you.

You will notice a change once you get the CAI and flash your car, The predator took away that 1/2 second lag when i get on the gas and the shift patterns
seem alot better I did put the 93 tune on so going from 87 octane to 93 is a big leap also.

Again this is just what I have seen and what I have read while looking for what to put on my mustang.
