Difference in Delete Plates
 

Looking at the two different delete plates available from brenspeed... both by steeda, looks like maybe the ports are bigger on one of them . . . would there be any type of power / torque gain differences in these. They both claim 10 hp. Also, does anybody have the link to the tacobill's how to install these ?

I put the economy steeda delete plates from Brenspeed on mine. Chose them just because they both claim 10hp and they were cheaper than the billet plates. I felt a difference in the throttle response, pretty nice. They were very easy to install, they come with instructions. You do need the tool to disassemble the fuel rail. The instructions specify this. IMO, nice upgrade.

I was reading taco bills write up on how to install these. . . he didnt mention anything that i saw about a special tool. Do you know what that is ?

To be honest with you I do not know what it is called. It is a little round plastic thing that you have to put on the fuel rail connection to compress it to get it to slide off. It's not really the fuel rail, its the actual fuel line that connects to the fuel rail. If you open your hood and look at the engine, to your right next to the intake manifold you will see your fuel line. Where it turns from rubber to metal, you will see a round looking connection. You have to use this special tool on this to compress it enough to slide off. I'm sorry I'm not very technical with definitions. you will see what I am talking about. You can pick these up at any auto parts store for a couple of dollars.

You don't need a tool to disassemble the fuel rails, just take them off and lay them on the drivers side.

if you want to use the tool,its about $8 from any auto parts store,it just slides around the fuel line and releases the fitting, i did mine with out the tool, but later bought the tool when i built my motor because i didnt need all the injectors in my way. you can do it either way.

as far as which plates to get, depends on what your willing to spend, the ports on the economy plates are already bigger than the actual intake runners, so i dont see how the CNC plates could help you there.you cant really see the plates so i dont think having "prettier" plates would help you much either,hell,i have no idea why you would choose one over the other other than the price.

good upgrade... especially when combined with an underdrive pulley kit... I really felt a big difference then...

On a N/A motor ? I do have the steeda UP set

Yes.

You lose some low end torque (nothing that a tune can't fix), but you get more pull in the higher RPMs >3,000.

At least that's what I think.
