Handling kit for a convertible
 

Considering the FRPP Handling kit along with a strut brace to improve handling. I have a convertible though, not known for chassis rigidity. Should I be concerned that the handling kit would (especially the sway bars) could overstress the convertible chassis?

Has anyone faced a problem after installing sway bar and/strut brace on a convertible?

the vert has different springs and swaybars than a coupe. I would make sure that you compare them first. Also, a strut tower brace isnt going to improve handling.

A lot of people install the strut tower braces on the convertibles to stiffen the chassis and some have claimed to feel a positive gain in stiffness. You will not harm anything by installing it.

I put a Spoohn / Helwig rear sway bar in and that made the car feel more planted. I also put on a Steeda panard bar and brace. I had a strut tower brace and got the exspensive steeda because the length was adjustable, but that came off with the whipple. I almost put the triangular frame brace on, but bought it in the winter and come spring when I went to put it on it didn't fit. Called Steeda and they said sorry, we changed that on or web site and was out of luck. The bigest improvment was putting on GT500 wheels and tires. Made it ride a lot better with more rubber.

That's correct...in my case, I could not feel the difference, but I got mine just for looks. :icon_playing:

I wouldn't worry about the frame being stressed. Ford produced a Shelby GT convertible with the FRPP suspension. I don't think that had any special bracing, aside from the strut tower brace, which didn't do anything on my coupe.
