I have probably tried every exhaust out there on my 05 GT, I was never satisfied with the sound, I was at a adrl race here in Kansas and walked by a flowmaster booth and noticed they had a new axle back out that was stainless steel and where 40 series mufflers. The part # is 817460. I got a awesome deal on them and decided to buy them for my new 09 GT. Wow...is all I can say, sounds nearly identical to my foxbodys, nice and deep and no raspyness! I am very impressed, I have the old flowmaster axle back on my 05 and this new kit blows it way! If you want a old school sound this is the only kit I heard that doesn't sound like crap on a s197 stang.

Thank you all for your replies but from what i can tell from your responses it is all about personal opinion, which for everyone is all that matters. i found the sound that i want by you tubing the heck out Mustang GT 05-09 exhaust systems. my personal opinion ended up being SLP loud mouths. not too bad on the price either. posted below is the URL that sold me.
