Default Need advice on purchase

Hai guise!
New member here. Looking to purchase an 06 GT, trying to stay around 30k miles. I am wondering what I should expect to pay from a dealer/private owner? I found a couple around 17500-19000 listed on the net. What would be a realistic offer(cash)? Thanks for any advice. Also, i am located in south georgia.

If you can find one in that price range at a Ford dealer offer them 2K off asking price with a clean CarFax and extended warranty and enjoy your new Stang

Thanks for the reply. I seen online the few I have found all have carfax available. Does these prices seem about right? Too low/high?

I think 19k is a bit much for an 06 GT. I agree with the above, get it knocked down to $17k-ish and make sure the record is clean. Some people have come on here and said you can get GTs for as low as 14k but I've never seen them that low with a clean record.

Now is the time to buy so if you're in a position to don't let anything stop you! Get yours now before all the good deals are gone. I've seen DOZENS of 05-08s being bought up like crazy here in the past few months. Everyone is getting them before the recession sees light.

I wish you luck!

Honestly, you can probably pick up an 09 GT that is still on a dealers lot for 21-23, so 19 is way to much for an '06 w/30K miles.

Shop around - don't be in a rush. Hit up a couple of dealerships also.......you may land a great deal just by being patient.

I couldn't buy mine for 21 or 23 thousand. The sticker was $36802.00. With rebates they would not move down very much. I wish I could have bought it for $21k. Maybe you should do my negotiating. LOL

I went yesterday to a ford dealership and the had an 09 GT w like 15 miles on it for $32,000. They did not even have a 2010 GT in stock. They had a couple of V6s though. I will keep checking around, def not in a rush. Thanks for the replies!

So, just an update...I found one online(06 GT, auto, silver) I really like and checked into it, dealer asking 16800...once I called and checked, he called back about an hour later and offered it for 15800. It only has 17,000 miles on it. I checked the carfax and found this:

Accident reported
in Gloucester County
Involving bottom impact
Vehicle ran off the road
It hit a curb
Vehicle towed
Front area primarily damaged
Front airbag deployed

Would this be a deal breaker? I could probably get it checked out by a 3rd party to make sure it is ok. What would be a good offer for this car?

I just bought a 2005 V6 premium convertible with 25k on it and a 3 year bumper to bumper warranty for $15,800. They wouldn't move any more and I needed a car quick so I paid a little bit high (IMO).

I would generally tend to stay away from damaged cars, esp if an airbag went off. My last Passat was a W8 and had 38000 miles on it. checked the report after I bought it and it had the engine replaced, thought this was great because the known cam adjuster issue ($10k to fix) should be fixed by the revised part in the new engine. Found out from mechanics the revised part is no different and I should expect the same issue to happen in the next year or so. After 2 months of owning it the light came on and threw that code.... followed VW regs and did oil change and light turned off. Moral of the story, stay away from problem cars and cars with a lot of work done to them (unless its a modded car for racing then its probably ok as long as its not a DD). That W8, although functioning fine when I traded it will probably break down in the next year or two with more damage than the car is worth. Mustangs are great and reliable but I would avoid cars with extensive work done to them. You don't know exactly what damage was done to the car in the front end or underneath.

Whats you're zip? i'll see if I can find something reasonable. What options do you want?
