Default Adjusting the Timing

.... Its 3:30 in the morning, and I have been pondering and working on this all day. I am looking to adjust the timing on my engine. 4.6L 3V. This is really a carry over from my last question regarding the P0021 code I am getting.

I already replaced the VCT solenoid (sp?) and that didn't work, so I after 5 hours of work, I have removed my turbo system, and the front engine cover. The timing chains look like they are set correctly, but the code is telling me differently. If there is anyone with any insight into what to look for when seeing if the timing is off, and how to adjust the timing, it would be greatly appreciated!

Didn't I post the possible causes in your previous post? I don't think you have a mechanical timing problem unless you've disassembled the engine and this code came up immediately after. I think you should check elswear, start with your tune.

We should make a sticky for people with custom tunes and SC or turbos that says

IF YOU HAVE DRIVEABILITY ISSUES IT IS USUALLY YOUR TUNE!

It's rare, but all these issues usually come down to the tune.

Best of luck.

Yes, you did. I thought I had mentioned that I had disassembled my engine... Maybe I didn't, I have been looking for answers for so long that I am not sure what I typed or said where??? Sorry for the confusion.

@Hammeron, thanks a million! I will update as I hack my way through this thing.
