Roush Stripe Catastrophe

Roush Stripe Catastrophe
Hi, I've been a lurker here for years - I have an '05 GT. I love it. Well except recently.
My white Roush stripes have discolored. And these are my second set.
The first set did this - I researched the subject and found folks commenting that car wax can have an effect not unlike this.
So I had them replaced and have never waxed my car since. This time around I've washed it myself - with soapy water. And then I began to notice the same telltale orange staining. This does not wash off. It's stained.
Does anyone know what causes this??
I know painting would be better - and the decals are somewhat inferior, but really? That much degradation? After 15 months?? What's the point in anyone EVER applying decals?
Here is my pic:

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Car wax and/or sealant should not cause discoloration of your stripes like that. I have white stripes on my car that I apply Zaino (a sealant) to along with the rest of the car. They look as good as new. Are you on public water or well water? Iron in the water that you use to wash the car could cause orange discoloration, but I highly doubt it's the wax you are (or were) using.

Perhaps the solution that was used to put them on wasn't pure water-based (as mentioned, heavy in iron)?
If it's from the top/surface, then it should not do that if you waxed over the stripes.
Mine have been on almost 4 years (not Roush stripes, but stripes nonetheless) and there's no discoloration. I do keep them waxed well along with the whole care.

as previously mentioned, Iron will cause the oranging. All it takes is a few water spots that contain iron being left on the stripes. The microscopic flecks of iron in the dried water will rust and turn orange. If this is your second set, may as well pay to have stripes actually painted on the car and save future replacements.
