Default What performs better in Texas?

Hear in Texas where it is very hot, do both turbo and supercharger perform the same, or is one better than the other. I really wouldn't want to get robbed of alot of horsepower because of the heat. So basically what i am asking is turbo or supercharger for a hot Texas daily driver.

I owned an Evo VIII before the mustang and high temps and heat soak made a big difference in performance. Stock at San Antonio Raceway the car would run in the mid 14's in hot weather but very low 13's in the cool nights. Unfortunately the cars that were supercharged and were running on the same days did not do any better with the high temps. It seems that both systems take a big hit with hot weather. Both systems do have ways to cool the incoming charge of air of which the turbo probably has an advantage with the nitrous oxide or co2 cooled intercoolers.

So turbo would be a little better, but not much of a difference, that really sucks. I was hoping one would have a pretty good advantage over the other in this hot weather.

Some guys have their intercoolers cooled with nitrous as well as shooting a small shot of nitrous into the intake track to cool the incoming hot pressurized air. Or some use these types of coolers which use ice. http://www.siliconeintakes.com/produ...oducts_id=1227

Either system will suffer the same effects I believe. IMO, your best bet would be to go for a supercharger with an air/water intercooler. I've heard the centrifugal units (ie the Vortech with the air/water aftercooler) run cooler than the twin screws. I have no idea if that is true though, and even if so, I'm doubtful the difference would matter much.

Regardless, with as hot as its been here, intercooler or not, etc, when its damn 106 degrees like it was when I left work today, you'll be down on power anyhow. I've not even driven my car for the past 2 weekends because its pointless. We're moving to the mountains in Colorado next summer, and I can't wait, lol. I'll lose power up there, but I don't care. I'll just add the intercooler upgrade to mine to make up the difference.
