I've had numerous new cars (probably north of 25 at this point), and I just drive them. Generally speaking the first 1000 miles I won't go out of my way to flog them, but I've never worried about varying RPMs or freaked out about an occasional WOT run. Never had any problems.

Your motor was 'broken in' at the factory. You can drive it like you stole it right off the lot.
