OEM wheel studs with 1/4" spacers

Anyone know if I can (safely) run with 1/4" rear spacers on the OEM wheel stud length? Not sure if there will be enough threads (think I need 8-10) for lugs to grab. Just mounted my new rims (Godspeed Omegas) with 40mm offset. I have less than 1mm of clearance between caliper and inside of wheel spoke (actually, I slid a playing card between caliper and back of spoke and it fit.. but is rubbing on both sides... that's 0.25mm clearance!) Fronts fit fine with 30mm offsets. Thanks.

Bump. Where's the love? OK, let me ask it another way... Anyone running any wheel spacers (1/8", 3/16", 1/4", 5mm) on their OEM studs? Wondering if there is enough OEM stud threads with a small spacer to allow for proper thread engagement (8 thread) with lug? I'm dead in the water as my new rims almost touch my rear brake calipers (I can fit 1 playing card between back of wheel spoke and brake caliper bracket.. that's 0.25mm). I think I should have at least 1/8" clearance (which is 3.2mm... or roughly 12 playing cards thickness!). This is way to close to drive on. Anyone?

I've been running 1/4 " spacers on my car for 3 yrs with 0 problems.
