LT headers and o/r x mid pipe

Out of curiosity how many days can you drive your car without a tune with lt headers and o/r mid pipe? Nothing too hard either.

You can drive without a tune for as long as you want. The check engine light that you get is just b/c your rear 02 sensors are telling the computer that the catalytic converters are not operating properly. A tune may increase power slightly or increase driveability, but you won't hurt anything driving around with the CEL. If you have your own tuner, you can get a tune emailed to you from brenspeed or bamachips that will tell your PCM not to run the job which reads the rear 02 sensor status. Then it will not throw the code. That is what I did for my car to run my O/R-H pipe.

Awesome, I'm a lot happier now :) I'm going to install them saturday then.

Reason I asked, because I read before that your car might run lean without a tune causing it to shut down. Thanks for the clarification.

my friend changed mid-pipe in his 04GT and got a CEL. He thought it wouldn't do anything, but after a about 5000 miles, he screwed up his plugs because his car was running extremely rich. The car tried to compensate for the lean condition by throwing more fuel into the bay. If your exhaust triggers a CEL, get it fix.
