Default 2010 GT CAI/Tune @ Bamachips

I noticed that Bamachips has C&L CAI and tunes available for the 2010 GT now, has anyone tried them out? I had the C&L intake and the Bama 93 Race tune on my 2006 V6 and loved it so I'm just checking to see what the first impressions are since I will be buying my 2010 soon (once the old loan drops off my credit report :P).

I have the Bamachips 91 performance tune and it is great. The throttle is more responsive and the car is a bit faster. Driveability is much improved and the car feels lighter and more responsive. Maybe adds 5-7hp with the stock intake. Well worth the cost though just for the improvement in driveability. I tried the 93 tune but got a lot of detonation after 4000 rpm with local 93 octane gas. Went down to the 91 octane tune to stop the detonation and kept most of the performance gain. Well worth the money.

Where were you getting your gas? I always ran 2-3 tanks of premium through before switching to the 93 tunes on my V6 just to be sure there wasn't too much inferior gas in the tank ... maybe the mix from what you had in there before wasn't cutting it. Just a thought. I always used Shell V-Power and Marathon in my V6 ... Speedway and BP made it run like crap even on the stock tunes.

Umm..you realize loans don't "drop off" your credit report....right? They're on their for 5-10 years or longer depending on the type of loan.

My car would ping with 87 even when stock so I switched to 93 after the 2nd or 3rd fillup. I'm happy with the 91 tune and didn't really notice much of a difference between the 91 and 93 tunes. I actually prefer the 91 as it gives me a margin of error for bad gas or travelling out the area where 93 might not be available.

I meant shown as paid. I just paid it off (sold the car) and it still shows me as owing the balance on the loan.

How long does it take once you pay something off for the loan to drop off your credit.

Gets updated at the end of the month when the credit bureaus get their updates and then takes then 1-2 weeks to update your reports

My 2006 did the same thing with pinging, even with 87. This seems to be a common problem with these 3v modulars.

But, since I changed my plugs to Autolite HT1's, I haven't had any pinging even in 100+ degree temps. What I used to do before the plugs was during the hot months, just pull 2 degrees of timing from 4000-8000 using the SCT and reload the tune. That pretty much took care of it for the most part. But with my new plus I don't need to pull it any more.

I've had 3 s197 GTs... A 2006 GT vert, a 2008 GT coupe, and now a 2010 GT coupe. They all pinged on 87 with the stock tune. I'm still loving my Bamachips 91 perf tune. The car is so much more responsive and fun to drive now.
