I picked up some heads from a '09 GT, with the date of manufacture on the heads being June and July of 2008.
These are obviously the 'new style heads to correct the spark plug issues.

Also per this other thread (https://mustangforums.com/forum/4-6l...a-problem.html) , it seems the coil packs (cop's) are different (brown vs. black).

How are the coil packs different? Just in length? Do they still plug into the wiring harness the same? Same ends for spark plug connection? Can earlier (2005-2007) cops be used?

Who sells these coil packs besides Ford?

the cop are different and you can get them at the dealer.

The ceramic insulator on the old style plug vs the new style plug is bigger. The new (brown boot) coil is essentially the same as the old coil, just with a narrower boot. They changed the color of the boot so you can see the difference. The coils look identical other than the color of the boot.
