I seee Thanks .. How much were your Hot Rod cams? How much was install for you?

the cams were $726 from an FRPP
dealer. the install i did myself, but
bought $240 worth of special tools,
to do the job at home using Fords
procedure.

niceee came out pretty cheap then. Wish you were in NJ would of payed you

well that's aweful kind of you Pony...

if i were local i would just be there for moral
support and let you have the fun of
turning the wrenches. i wouldn't say anything
unless you had a question or were going
off track.

thats exactly what i like to do ..Im mechanical savy soo thats y i posted this question i just dont want to write a check to some guy . lol When money comes in and i decide to do cams i will ask on the local forums for some helpp

For the perfomance cams... what kind of gains did you receive any dyno runs? or plain just feeling?

and the best thing is people have discovered you don't need the special tools to do the install anymore. Also if you want to use the special tools a lot of guys will lend you theirs if you just pay shipping both ways...

it all really depends on if you want
to do it fords way, or another way.

it's not my car so if someone wants to
shove a garden hose down between the
chains, great. if someone wants to use
a screw driver and pry the cam followers
out, wonderful, more power to them.

this is probably how a lot of shops do
the job.

i love my car too much to do that .. .lol Is their a price difference for the performance cams?

cams themselves are generally all around
the same price. the overall cost of a
cam project will depend on whether you
need to change the valve springs or to
modify the cam phasers.
