I will be shopping for a TC this winter too. I was thinking about TCI but on several forums I have heard nothing but nebatives about quality and stall consistancy, so I personally have ruled them out. For some reason B&M doesn't make anything for the S197/5R55S Fords, I guess they aren't up to the challenge.

The two I have heard the most good things about are PI (Percision Industries) and Fuddle Racing. One of these two is where I am leaning at this point. I am thinking 3K stall for my needs.

I sure hope some of the other forumites here with actual expierience with aftermarket TCs give you the information we are both looking for.

The PI ones cost an arm and a leg but are excellent, both in performance and build (from what I hear) Level 10 also make great products. I may go PI 3k stall once I can convince myself that $1,200 is worth it lol.

What are some decent priced torque converters? I agree I would be hard pressed to purchase one for 1200...does anyone have a good purchase they could share?

How about $770? There is also some good basic torque converter information ( definitions and terms) at this site on a different page http://www.fuddleracing.com/EliteConverters.html

I have a PI 3500 torque converter w/ lockup . Very happy with it. No issues with a 3500 on the street.

These times are with drag radials.I never ran the car on street tires.
Summer months 12.20's. Colder months 12 teens with a 12.09 best so far. This winter I hope to achieve my goal of hitting the 11's N/A.
