Default Tune with 4.10's?

I was thinking of getting 4.10s and was wondering if i needed a tune with them. Someone told me my speedometer might be off alittle bit. Did anyone get new gears without a tune?

You dont necessarily need a tune, but you do need a handheld tuner to adjust your speedometer. I have a manual, but from what i understand, this is especially important with automatics. Without changing it, the computer will still think you have the stock gears and will mess up the shift points along with the correct speed.

+1

The issue with the autos is that the gear change should (but doesn't HAVE to) also include changes to other parameters such as shift points and possibly something else (fuel mapping?). At the very least you need a handheld to adjust the speedo for the gear change.

I was running the wrong tune once and it showed that I was going 20+ what I actually was... pulled over for doing 40mph when I thought I was doing 60 lol.

He thought I was drunk.. I wasn't lol.
