Default 2005 and newer GT's on the autobahn?

I just purchased a used 2007 Mustang GT with a 5-speed manual and 3.31 rear end ratio. I would like to run the Silver State Classic and would like to understand how the 2005 and later Mustang GT's "feel" at 100 mph plus sustained speeds. Are there service men and women stationed in Germany who can tell me first hand?

What speeds do you drive at, how stable does the car feel, have you modified it for driving in Germany, what is the fastest speed you have sustained for some length of time?

By the way I was stationed in Germany in the mid-1980's but alas I did not drive a Mustang but a BMW 320i that was not really very fast - max 125 mph.

I also have an '07 and also have driven on sections of the silver state road, I don't think you will have any trouble with your mustang on that road. I have driven my dodge diesel on it at a sustained 108 mph, that was as fast as the truck would run, 120 would have been no problemo, the mustang would handle it even better. I would feel fine running 150 in the mustang.

My truck will do over 150.............but I would rather be in the mustang. It feels more planted than my truck does.

i live in southern cali and i have a cousin who i visit every couple months in phoenix area and i go thru the desert at about 110 to 115 n the car is pretty much just cruising. the heavy weight and pretty wide stance of the car make it really easy to cruise at the 100+ mph. so i wouldnt worry tto much about it

I've run between 90 and 110 MPH steady for 1 - 1 1/2 hours at a time and she's happy there. Been over 120 a few times and, other than griping the seat with my puckering butt, she was settled with the exception of the notorious hood shake (common). But I'm sure the 275's all the way around help some with the nice feel.

It depends on the road conditions honestly. I have a stock set up for my suspension and in Italy it gets a little choppy and you feel like your drifting around a little but its controlled. When I drove in Croatia I maintained 130+ like it was nothing. The road I was driving on was newer than the auto strada sections near me so thats why.

I had done the triple-digit sustained quite a few times in the past, and even on stock wheels/tires it was stable. The 275s will do the same (what I have now are the NT-450s with 17x9s on all corners) and will add some more stable/agressive cornering. What it will also add is pull on ruts in the road, especially when coming to a stop, so be ready for it, heh. Still, I'm sure you should have no problem if you're used to the speeds and dodging the insane traffic.

The autostrada was no big deal, either, though I agree on the bad paved sections. I did my driving near the Brindisi/Lecce area. We had a rental Nissan Micra for our trip, and it kept up with the rest around that speed when necessary. I'm sure the Mustang'd do the same.
