I found a v8 out of a 2008 mustang gt and i was just wondering if the tranny in the gts and the v6s are the same? theyre both auto tremec 5 so would my tranny work or not?

Different bolt pattern, the V8's use a bellhousing bolt pattern for the modular motors, the 4.0L V-6 I believe uses the Windsor bellhousing pattern.

They are not the same, IIRC the v6 has a T-5 and the GT has a T-3650. The T-5 might bolt up to the GT motor, but I have no idea, you'd have to research that.

Even if you get a V8 transmission you'll still need a GT exhaust. wiring harness, Powertrain Control Module (PCM), engine mounts, front brakes, drive shaft, rear axel assembly including diferential, front and rear sway bars, springs, and the list goes on and on and .................................the $$$$$$$ go on and on too.

If you want a GT, buy a GT. Much cheaper and easier.

Think Im gonna just charge the sixer lol sounds like too much **** to go through. only get 350..ish hp but its alright for a v6. thanks for your input guys
