Ported heads going on, have questions...
Having a set of ported heads put on soon and was wondering about a couple of things if some of you have had any experience with this:
1. What head gaskets to get and from where
2. New torque-to-yield head bolts needed? I guess the dealer is the best source?
3. Has anyone had a shop do the swap on thee heads and how much should I expect it to cost if I go that route? I called a couple of dealers and they want around $2,500 which is alot, I'd rather do it myself for that much.
This project has been going on for a while but I am pretty excited about the potential results. I will share the before and after results. I am going to get another baseline dyno , then switch the heads, and then get it dyno'ed again right after to see what the net reults of adding the ported heads was.
Any recommendation on a good dyno shop in the Metro Detroit area?

I used felpro mls gaskets from rock auto $120. Also used felpro tty bolts from rock auto for $60. You will also need timing cover gaskets, oil seal, valve cover gaskets, rtv, and a new crank pulley bolt.
You could do it yourself in a day without removing the motor. Two days if you have help.
The procedure is here: http://iihs.net/fsm/?dir=159&viewfile=Engine.pdf
