Default C&L CAI dry filter?

Has anyone out there replaced the S&B filter in their C&L CAI with a dry one?

I know that a few on the forum have replaced their oiled filters, no matter what the original brand, with dry. And I'm sorry that I spent the $$ on a recharge kit for my Steeda since, if I was to do it over, I'd get a dry filter from Amsoil or whomever. Cleaning and re-oiling is a hassle and without a spare filter you lose about a day or 2 of being able to drive the Stang.

The only dry filter I have seen of comparable size is the Amsoil EAAU4090, but it is an inch longer and may not fit. The car isnt here so no way to check it

I actually had looked at the Amsoil dry filters and even spoke to their tech support. We couldn't find an exact match for my Steeda either but I could have made it work.

There are a few other suppliers of dry filters out there (one my be S&B?) but the names escape me.

I switched to an AMSOIL filter for my K&N Aircharger. It was a tad too big, but it worked.
