Default What does 7 cylinders feel like?

I think my aftermarket coils might have taken a dump on me. Coming home today the car was fine. I tried to lightly accelerate in 5th gear and I initially thought the clutch was slipping. It felt rough and the exhaust sounded different. It feels rough down low in any gear and the exhaust note souds different at idle.

I checked the oil thinking I'd blown a head gasket, but it looked fine. Now i'm going out to swap the coils. It sounds like I have a cam.

Here's hoping it's the coils. I have over a year of driving on them.

I checked the long term fuel trips and B1 shows 20, while bank 2 showed 25. That's not normal, they are normally very close and below 10.

If the fuel trim is a positive number, that means it's adding fuel to that side, right?

if data logging with sct.....

as far as i can tell, you'll get a positive STFT
value if the engine is running rich and based
on 02 sensor data, the pcm is reducing fuel
in order to meet the commanded A/F ratio
listed in the base fuel table.

with LTFT it's the opposite... a positive number
means the engine is running lean and based on
02 data, the pcm is adding fuel.

correction, long term is 24.x on bank 2 and 19.x on bank 1.

I also got a code p0174, which is bank 2 lean.

WTF?

It's adding fuel, that's for sure, making it run like pooh! It smells like gas as well.

well it's good you detected this early...

also, i corrected my post above.... you had
looked at LTFT and those readings are different.

i had a plug go bad and the "clutch slipping" feel is sorta what i felt. It would kick back in sometimes and i felt the power again. the aeroforce gauge thru the misfire code and yours should too if its the coil.

Is there a fool proof way to test the MAF sensor? I was reading online about checking the Barometric pressure that it is reporting, but I'm not sure my gauge can read this.

If someone with a whipple and Aeroforce gauge could tell me the MAF reading at idle, that would be helpful.

Could be the plugs.
I'm reading long term fuel trim on the aeroforce gauge. It set a lean code, so I assume it's not the plugs or coils.

I fixed my early post about fuel trims. It seems to be adding fuel to both sides, so I'm thinking either intake leak or the MAF isn't reporting the air correctly making it think less air is coming in so it adds less fuel, which causes it to get confused.
